Mindstorm

A fearsome & fantastic journey to the heart of the Savage Id.

Name:
Location: Invisible City, North Dakota, United States

Read my book, The Mind-Warp Era. It'll tell you about the real Lead--& his alter-ego, the true Rootboy covered with slime (the Savage Id). Partly a poignant memoir, partly a cosmicomic book, it relays the Id's adventures thru dark dimensions of funereal dread, with Timothy Leary as co-pilot. (The rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.)

Lucinda in the Sky with Diamonds

Yesterday (it seems so far away) I received a phone call from the person that I based the character Lucinda Ogdoad on in "Astronomy Domine". Monday morning when I checked my email she said she'd call "sometime during the day". I was hoping that it wouldn't be in the morning, as I'd planned to hang out at the Layout after a stop at the bank. Cheri was out, though, so after Car-girl gave Trish her ride I worked some on the cover letter to Mindstorm, then went to the Invisible Soup Kitchen for lunch, which turned out to be grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup -- the same thing I'd have had at home. I played around with the keyboard for awhile, then sat down to watch the Doors. She called sometime during the middle of it, to inform me she can't stand Oliver Stone because of all the violence... well, this doesn't have violence, it has sex; oh, I love gratuitous sex... anyway, she's making a tape of herself playing guitar & mailing it to me.

Just when the movie ended Fred showed up with Trish. He had to pick someone up at the train station, but said that he'd meet her there after work. She had a Caesar salad & a grilled cheese sandwich that I made on the sandwich maker her dad had bought her for her birthday. We went shopping, including buying athlete's foot stuff, then she wanted to watch David Bowie. In the middle of it I ran over to Creative Liesure to rent The Man Who Fell to Earth, about half of which we watched as she had to go to bed early: she had an appointment today with Vickie, which I think did as much damage as it did good.

Just because her boss told Trish that she can have time off from work any time she wants it, she had to wake me up in the middle of the night to demand to take an extra day off from work Friday (Thursday we go to Great Falls) so "[she] could have a 4-day weekend". Vickie told her that she'd make more money off SSI -- but that wouldn't be for 2 months. She's already taking a week off for the 4th of July. I don't see how we're going to live on our small quantity of savings if she starts taking days off at random just to have them off.

Today is TA with Car-girl. I think I'll print up my intro to my novel so she can see. Other than that we'll be shopping at the Village. I wish Trish would get over her fear of driving enough for us to go out there sometimes.
